Uganda /Kenya /Tanzania 10 days 9 Nights Apes Primates & The Great Wildebeest Migration

 

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe, Uganda 
Arrive at Entebbe International Airport and transfer to Marriott Protea Hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you can explore the Botanical Gardens, Wildlife Education Centre, or opt for activities like visiting Jane Goodall's Ngamba Island or enjoying an evening BBQ at Faze III Restaurant on the shores of Lake Victoria. Dinner and overnight stay at Marriott Protea Hotel.

Day 2: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Uganda
After breakfast, you'll be transferred to Entebbe International Airport for a flight to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Upon arrival at Kihihi airfield, you'll be taken to the park headquarters in Buhoma (a 1.5-hour flight). Check-in at your lodge for lunch and then embark on a village walk to interact with local communities. Highlights include the Batwa pygmy culture, banana brewing, and a visit to Mukono Primary School. Return for dinner and overnight at Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp or Mahogany Springs Lodge.

Day 3: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi
Early morning, you'll set off for gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. This ancient rainforest is renowned for its gorilla sightings and offers a unique ecosystem with cascading waterfalls and diverse wildlife. After an hour with the gorillas, you'll return for a picnic lunch and have the option to explore other attractions like waterfalls, the Pangolin rescue sanctuary, coffee tours, or enjoy a relaxing massage. Dinner and overnight at Sanctuary GFC or Mahogany Springs.

Day 4: Second Gorilla Tracking
Another day of gorilla tracking, with the possibility to visit a different gorilla family. After tracking, depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park, a 4-hour drive via Ishasha. You'll experience a diverse landscape with volcanic craters, grassy plains, and tropical forests. In the late afternoon, embark on a launch trip on the Kazinga Channel, known for its abundant hippos and diverse wildlife. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari or Katara Lodge.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest
After breakfast, depart for Kibale Forest National Park, with a game drive en route. Along the way, you'll cross the Uganda Equator and might even spot the snow-capped Mountains of the Moon on clear days. Be ready for a mid-morning chimpanzee tracking experience in Kibale Forest, known for its high primate density. The park also boasts over 300 bird species and 250 butterfly species. Visit Fort Portal and its crater lakes before heading to your lodge. Dinner and overnight at Kyaninga Lodge.

Day 6: White Water Rafting on the Nile
Start your day early and depart for Jinja town, a 5.5 to 6-hour drive. Upon arrival, enjoy a picnic lunch and a safety drill before an exhilarating half-day white water rafting adventure on the Nile River. Return for dinner and overnight at The Haven Uganda.

Day 7: Departure to Masai Mara
After breakfast, transfer to Entebbe International Airport for a flight to Masai Mara Conservancy. Upon arrival at Kichwa Tembo airstrip, you'll be transferred to Bateleur Camp. In the evening, embark on a private game drive in the Masai Mara. Dinner and overnight at Bateleur Camp.

Day 8: Full Day Safari in Masai Mara
Spend the entire day exploring the Masai Mara National Reserve and witnessing the Great Wildebeest Migration. Return to the camp in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Bateleur Camp.

Day 9: Transfer to Serengeti, Tanzania
Transfer to the airstrip for a flight to Serengeti Lamai Airstrip via Migori Airstrip. Upon arrival, you'll be transferred to Kichakani Serengeti Camp. Enjoy an afternoon shared game drive in the Serengeti. Dinner and overnight at Sanctuary Kichakani Serengeti Camp.

Day 10: Full Day in Serengeti
Spend the day exploring Serengeti National Park with morning and afternoon game drives. Witness the Great Wildebeest Migration and the diverse wildlife of the region. Overnight at Sanctuary Kichakani Serengeti Camp.

Day 11: Departure  
Transfer to Serengeti Lamai airstrip for a flight back to Kilimanjaro. Depart for your onward flight.
